As far as what's been going on game-wise, JB and I still play Rocket League quite a bit in the upper Diamond ranks. Every once in a while, I'll rank up to Champ 1 but not for enough games in a row to maintain it. 😀 Yoda's still been playing quite a bit of PUBG and some of us are taking a look at "New World" - an upcoming MMO that looks quite interesting from Amazon Games.

UPDATE! The time has come. EnterTheGame has been a great IRC host for us over the 10+ years but we've had several outages and no updates from the official #etg channel. In anticipation of the fall of ETG, I created a channel for us on QuakeNet back in 2015 which is a huge IRC network with updated tools, advance self-administration features, and even a built in web client. I (and others, likely) will still hang out on both ETG as well as QuakeNet, but QuakeNet will be our new home. It's a huge network with over 20,000 channels and has been very reliable for me. Our experimentation with "Discord" also continues and Animal has coded a proxy bot that relays messages back and forth from Discord to IRC. Good stuff.

If I did it right, you didn't notice, but I've moved the entire site to a different hosting provider. There's a long story behind it I won't bore you with, suffice it to say this has been a long time coming. :-)

Most of us have been playing a bit of Quake Live and we're still doing annual LANs in the Dallas area, so stop on by and give us a shout.

Ten (10!) years ago today I received emails from Bear at id Software and Will Bryant at Clanring saying that the Muppets (http://www.muppetclan.com) were added to their respective clan listings. The Muppets were id Software's 16th official clan and Clanring's 43rd official clan. (A brief history of clan gaming (written by Jeremy "Lindril" Degroat) is available at http://www.muppetclan.com/history.)

We'll be celebrating our birthday by generally going nuts in our IRC channel (#clan_muppet on EnterTheGame) with a private LAN party planned for later in the year.

Holy cow! 8 years ago today, the Muppet Clan was born!

Since the news hasn't been updated in awhile, here's the low-down. A few of us are playing EQ still (dabbling in Star Wars Galaxies) with eyes on WoW and EQ2. Many of us are playing Unreal Tournament 2004 with our eyes on Half-Life 2 and Doom ]|[. Finally, almost all of us are playing IRC working our way up the chat/idle ladder tourney. :-)

We'll be celebrating our birthday with a private LAN party this weekend where 29 Muppets (and "near Muppets") from all over the US will be getting together at Waldorf's home in Dallas, TX. (Last years' LAN party at Dr Bunsen's had 24 people, with 10 of them coming from 2 or more states away.)

Lots of updates! First of all, there's a new splash image on the front page that shows most of our logos over the past 5 years. Pretty soon, I'll make a separate page with the full-sized images and a bit of history on each one.

Second of all, I've added a long-forgotten ClanRing history page that talks about how this whole crazy mess got started. Special thanks to Lindril for putting this together back then, and I've also added a section at the bottom about our place in Tournament III, including a demo of the famed Muppets vs. Death Row match.

Third of all, the 5th anniversary LAN is fast-approaching, so I've put together a sign-up form you can find under the members only section and on the message board.

Woo... got the new house in Dallas, TX... I call it Dorf Keep.

Pretty soon, things should settle down a bit and I can get back into the online gaming thing. However, we still have the painters, security system guys, etc.. all at the keep doin' their thing, plus more unpacking to do, so it's been pretty busy.

This picture was taken in an alley of New York City. Not sure what the guy has against me, but it's pretty funny nonetheless.

In EQ news, Dekaf went on a 'my wife isn't at home' leveling spree and gained about 15 levels while I was in the process of moving. : ) Also added a EQ forum to the muppet message board.

Anyways, we bid a sad farewell to one of our Canadian muppets, Kinslayer, as he moves to Death Jesters. Good luck, man... you'll be missed!

In other news, Florida still can't count. In yet other news, MC|Robin and I may be getting an offer on our house in Mississippi pretty soon, which means we should officially move our residence to Dallas, TX around Christmas. WOooHoOo!

Rumor has it that Moldavia Draghonetti may be on the prowl, so be sure to re-add him to your /friends list. : )

If Rizzo is reading this, or if anyone knows how to get in touch with him, please let me know. His real name is "Scott Dakus" and the last time I talked to him, he was living in Alberta.

Wowowoo... Lots of news on the QuakeWorld Clan Arena side of things! Sephiroth (old school muppet friend and former junior) is now officially back on the scene and back in the clan! Same thing with Bones. Although he never left the clan, we haven't seen him own us in qw in quite some time, but he brought back the memories last night!

A big congrats goes out to Azrael, Navy, and D who are now officially promoted to MC2!

Also, under the 'members only' section, I added a new forum to the message board for the QuakeWorld Clan Arena squad.

As you may have noticed, a couple of things are different. *smile*

The Muppet Clan, founded in 1996, is still alive and going strong. While it looks like we have moved on from the QuakeWorld scene, most of us are neck-deep in EverQuest and we're also planning a triumphant return to the world of Quake with a new Quake III Arena Team!
